Wheeee~ Open Mic was tonight, I'm actually starting to get into it again after the large absence at the end of last year where I didn't go for several months.
Tonight I performed Bloc Party's "The Prayer" and Dido's "Thank You" as well as reading out a few poems too "Music Soup" and one I haven't named, but I think I'm gonna call it "Ghost Man". I was a little shaky at first, but I always am at first. I got a really good round of applause after each piece. :]
When I went to the bar, one lady thought my voice sounded very jazzy while singing Bloc Party and my Ex Dan thought my poem about the Ghost Man was awesome. I loved getting all the compliments. Poppy likes the idea of me writing my poems on the backs of envelopes... (which I tend to do when there's no paper with me at the computer desk)
But the LULZ really happened when I went back to sit down. Bob said that I was "So sweet, you could put a cherry on the top of her head and call her a Bakewell," LOL. CHERRY BLAKEWELLS RULE!!!! 8D And as he went to cross my name off the list he went "I can cross you off now Cheryl, I've had you," to which Poppy shouted "YOU WISH"
Then when Poppy went on, one of her sounds called "Blood" - when she was trying to explain it, she said it "Isn't all emo and *motions self harming* stuff like Cheryl," to which I replied "I LOVE YOU TOO POPPY" LOL.
There was alot of really good music tonight, including the never ending talent of Anna and David - I love their voices so much, especially when they play System of a Down's "Welcome to Hollywood" which rocks so much! And my Ex's current girlfriend Sophie went up for the first time and I was left with Goosebumps and close to tears when she performed Regina Spektor's "Samson" and a few Evanescence tracks. She's such a beautiful singer! <33333333333 I really hope she comes back again! The whole place was silent when she played!
In other news. I REALLY NEED TO GET MY WORK DONE NAO.
Oh, and I need to go into down to buy some new accesories and I really need some new clothes ;.; I also need headphones for when I go into school and do french work and do Listening papers. *dies*
